Author Guidelines

By submitting the article, the authors confirm that they agree with the provisions, principles and policies posted on the website: https://virusjour.crie.ru/

Preparing the manuscript, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following regulations based on the “ICMJE Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals, December 2018”, developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors:

  1. Manuscript requirements.

    All authors of the article must sign the Article Submission Form.  
    By submitting the article, the authors confirm that they agree with the provisions listed below, and the principles and policies of the journal set out on the journal's website complete and unconditionally accept the terms of the Public offer — the Copyright agreement.  

  4.  Authorship

    The authors of the article may be persons who have made a significant contribution to the work of its revision or correction, the final approval for publication, as well as responsible for the integrity of all parts of the manuscript. Person performing a role in the preparation of this article (statisticians, language, technical staff and others.), may be contained in the section Acknowledgments of the article in Russian and English.

    It is necessary to specify the share of authors (Contribution) in the writing of the article.
    Marital authorship is unacceptable. The number of authors of the article must be reasonable: in the original papers without limitation, in reviews 3–4 persons. Authors should provide links to profile on http://orcid.org.

  5. Conflict of interest

    Authors undertake to report any actual or potential conflicts of interest. Conflict of interest can be considered as any situation, able to influence on the author of the manuscript and lead to concealment, misrepresentation or change interpretation of data. The presence of a conflict of interest with one or more of the authors is not a reason for refusal in the publication of the article. If editors reveal the concealing of potential and apparent conflicts of interest on the part of the authors the examination and publication of the manuscript can be refused.
    The form of the identifying of potential conflicts of interest contained in the Article Submission Form. Information on conflicts of interest must be given in an article in the Conflict of interest section. If there is no conflict of interest authors must declare it.

  6. Plagiarism and secondary publications. The unfair textual borrowing and appropriation of research results that do not belong to the authors of the manuscript is forbidden.

    The article can be checked on originality using  services Antiplagiat (for texts in Russian) and Plagiarism.org (for texts in English). The editors keep the right to verify incoming manuscripts for plagiarism. Text similarity of over 20% should be explained by the author in the cover letter. If plagiarism is identified, the COPE guidelines on plagiarism will be followed. Printed in other journals articles are not accepted.

  7. Funding of research and publications/Acknowledgments. If the study and/or the preparation of the article were financially supported, the source of funding should be indicated. If there was no financial support, this should be pointed out. This information should be submitted in Russian and English after the text of the article in the Acknowledgments section.

    If the authors used the services of editorial / brokerage agencies, they should be thanked for their ethical participation in this section (see paragraph 9 of the Sarajevo Declaration).

  8. The editors have the right to reduce and edit submitted articles. The date of receipt of the article is the time of receipt of the final (processed) version of the article in case of revision after review.

  9. Manuscripts and accompanying documents can be submitted to the editorial board by the following ways:

    • by e-mail to the address vopr.virusol@crie.ru (text of the article is supplied in Microsoft Word format, accompanying documents with original signatures are attached to the letter in PDF format);
    • online through the submission system located on the Journal website.
  10. Accompanying documents

    • A copy of the ethics committee conclusion regarding the research (if necessary)
    • The conclusion of the official translation agency on compliance English and Russian texts for authors who want to publish the full text of the article in Russian and English languages.
  11. Manuscript requirements

    Manuscripts whose design does not meet the requirements may be rejected on formal grounds.

  12. Additional materials

    The editors accept from authors any video and audio material to help readers more fully discover and understand a scientific study. It can be a brief presentation in webinar-style, video of the experiment or medical manipulations. Additional materials may be placed in the electronic version of the title.

  13. Appeal

    Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles.

  14. Removing of published articles

    Removal of already published article is an extreme measure and is applied in the case of opening facts that were not known during the review:
    – detection of violations of law and defamation;
    – detection of false or inaccurate data, especially those whose use may pose a risk to health.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with each of the following items, and submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to the authors.

  • Absence of plagiarism.  The authors guarantee that this article has not been published in whole or in part, and is not under consideration or in the process of publication in another publication.

  • Correct manuscript format. Manuscript file format is Microsoft Word (has the extension *.doc, *.docx, *.rtf). The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

  • Illustrations. Tables and figures were placed within the text of the manuscript and have their titles.

  • References. The list of references is formatted in accordance with the requirements. All the cited sources were checked for DOI.

  • Supplementary files. The authors have prepared for transfer to the editor

    • Graphic files (photos, satellite images, graphics, etc.).

    • A copy of the ethics committee conclusion regarding the research (if necessary)
    • The conclusion of the official translation agency on compliance English and Russian texts for authors who want to publish the full text of the article in Russian and English languages.

    The authors are ready to upload these files to the journal website in Step 3 during the manuscript submission process.

  • Authorship. The authors confirm that:

    • all participants who have made a significant contribution to the study are presented as co-Authors;
    • those who did not participate in the study are not listed as co-Authors;
    • all co-Authors have seen and approved the final version of the work and agreed to submit it for publication.
 

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of the first publication. The article simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal.

  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (see The Effect of Open Access).

By submitting the article and accompanying files (hereinafter – the work) the author (all the authors of the work, if it is created in co-authorship) agrees that he/she provides Central Research Institute for Epidemiology non-exclusive, perpetual and royalty-free license on the territory of Russia and other countries in the following ranges and volume:

  • the publication of works on paper and/or electronic format, producing reprints of works, placing it on the Internet, both in the open and paid access, sending works metadata or full text indexing to various databases and repositories;
  • reproduction of the work, i.e. the production of one or more copies of a work or part thereof in any material form, including in the form of audio or video recording. Recording on electronic media, including recording in computer memory, is also considered as a reproduction;
  • distribution of works through sale or other alienation of its original or copies;
  • public display of the work, that is, any demonstration of the original or copy of a work, either directly or on the screen using film, slide, television pictures or other technical means, as well as a demonstration of individual frames of an audiovisual work without concern for their order, either directly or with the help of technical means in a place open for free visits, or in a place where a significant number of individuals do not belong to the normal family, regardless of the perceived in the place of its display or elsewhere at the same time demonstrating product;
  • import-export of the work or its parts for any lawful purpose (paid and gratis);
  • translation or other processing of the works;
  • bringing the work to the public so that anyone can access the work from any place and at any time of their choice;
  • accommodation of works or parts thereof in a variety of collections of similar works;
  • granting of rights in full or in part to third (physical and legal) persons at both the paid and free of charge.

 

Privacy Statement

The editorial Board of the journal and the administration of the website of the journal do not transfer personal information to third parties, except for those cases and to the extent specified in the terms of the copyright agreement.

The affiliation work and e-mail address of the authors of the manuscript accepted for publication will be published in the section "information about the authors" of the printed version of the journal and in the section "about the authors" on the page of the article on the website of the journal.

The phone number of the corresponding author will be accessible only to the Editorial Board Secretariat and will only be used in cases of emergency.
