The purpose of the work is to study the diversity of coronaviruses among bats inhabiting the foothills and mountainous areas of the Republics of Dagestan, Altai and the Kemerovo region.</p> <p><bold>Materials and methods</bold>. Samples of bat oral swabs and feces were tested for the presence of coronavirus RNA by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).</p> <p><bold>Results</bold>. It has been shown that the greater horseshoe bats (<italic>Rhinolophus ferrumequinum</italic>), inhabiting the Republic of Dagestan, are carriers of two different coronaviruses. One of the two coronaviruses is a member of the <italic>Sarbecovius</italic> subgenus of the <italic>Betacoronavirus </italic>genus, which includes the causative agents of SARS and COVID-19. The second coronavirus is assigned to the <italic>Decacovirus</italic> subgenus of the <italic>Alphacoronavirus</italic> genus and is most similar to viruses identified among <italic>Rhinolophus</italic> spp. from European and Middle Eastern countries. In the Altai Republic and Kemerovo region, coronaviruses belonging to the genus <italic>Alphacoronavirus</italic>, subgenus <italic>Pedacovirus</italic>, were found in the smooth-nosed bats: Ikonnikov`s bat (<italic>Myotis ikonnikovi</italic>) and the eastern bat (<italic>Myotis petax</italic>). The virus from the Altai Republic from <italic>M. ikonnikovi </italic>is close to viruses from Japan and Korea, as well as viruses from <italic>Myotis</italic> spp. from European countries. The virus from the Kemerovo region from <italic>M. petax</italic> groups with coronaviruses from <italic>Myotis</italic> spp. from Asian countries and is significantly different from coronaviruses previously discovered in the same natural host.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Введение.</bold> Рукокрылые являются природным резервуаром коронавирусов (<italic>Coronaviridae</italic>), вызвавших за последнее десятилетие три вспышки заболевания людей: SARS, MERS и COVID-19, или SARS-2.</p> <p><bold>Цель</bold> работы – исследование многообразия коронавирусов среди рукокрылых, населяющих предгорные и горные районы республик Дагестан, Алтай и Кемеровской области.</p> <p><bold>Материалы и методы.</bold> Образцы ротовых смывов и фекалии рукокрылых исследовали на присутствие РНК коронавирусов с помощью полимеразной цепной реакции с обратной транскрипцией (ОТ-ПЦР).</p> <p><bold>Результаты.</bold> Показано, что большие подковоносы (<italic>Rhinolophus ferrumequinum</italic>), обитающие в Республике Дагестан, являются носителями двух разных коронавирусов. Один из двух коронавирусов входит в состав подрода <italic>Sarbecovius</italic><italic> </italic>рода <italic>Betacoronavirus</italic>, включающего возбудителей SARS и COVID-19. Второй коронавирус отнесен к подроду <italic>Decacovirus</italic><italic> </italic>рода <italic>Alphacoronavirus</italic> и наиболее близок вирусам, выявленным среди <italic>Rhinolophus </italic>spp<italic>. </italic>из европейских и ближневосточных стран. В Республике Алтай и Кемеровской области у гладконосых летучих мышей, ночницы Иконникова (<italic>Myotis</italic><italic> </italic><italic>ikonnikovi</italic>) и восточной ночницы (<italic>Myotis</italic><italic> </italic><italic>petax</italic>), обнаружены коронавирусы, входящие в род <italic>Alphacoronavirus, </italic>подрод <italic>Pedacovirus</italic>. Вирус от <italic>M</italic><italic>. </italic><italic>ikonnikovi</italic> из Республики Алтай близок вирусам из Японии и Кореи, а также вирусам от <italic>Myotis </italic>spp<italic>.</italic> из европейских стран.
